He and his brother, Dieter, eventually were placed with Cleveland, Ohio, philanthropists David and Inez Myers. Hans stayed in Cleveland, attended Case Institute of Technology, and eventually changed his name to Hal Hanauer Myers. The collection consists of speeches, correspondence and envelopes, calendars, school notebooks, various identification cards, scrapbook pages, news clippings, photographs, and books.
